BIRMINGHAM, ALA. - Nothing like ghosts, right? But a solitary lighthouse may seem a bit "disturbing on a hill fog above the pounding waves. The October issue of the magazine describes six living coastal legends haunted lighthouses. They are:
"Heceta Head Lighthouse in Yachats, Oregon., Now a bed-and-breakfast that supports a ghost known as Lady Gray.
"Owls Head Light, Owls Head, Maine, where the spirit of an old sea captain is said to keep an eye on the spot.
Point Lookout Light, Scotland, Md., is the site of what was once a Civil War hospital and prison camp, with the graves of soldiers nearby.
-St. Simons Island Lighthouse, St. Simons Island, GA., Where once another lighthouse keeper in the century, 19th, and residents claimed to hear traces of the victim.
Port Boca Grande Lighthouse, Gasparilla Island, Florida, where the colorful stories of the supernatural include a princess without a head.
Big Lighthouse Point Sur, Big Sur, California., Who owns the stories not only a ghost, but a half-dozen.
